"Sometimes I feel like my LinkedIn audience only wants certain types of posts, but Ali is right, his posts have been performing well!" - Founder

Initial Consultation

SaaS founders need to position themselves as thought leaders to ensure their voice is heard. This founder had already built a sizable audience of 147,000 followers but was stuck. Lack of time, and uncertainty about what their audience wanted to hear kept them from growing further and positioning themselves as a thought leader in their niche.

Crafting a Content Strategy

Generating content ideas can be challenging—especially for experts who might assume that their insights are already known. Personal pages on LinkedIn also get priority, and generally should be used for thought leadership and expressing professional opinions.

I began by developing a structured content calendar based on past discussions and untapped ideas from our meetings. This ensured a steady flow of valuable content without any guesswork. With regards to the visual content, my strategy was to give it a new look without changing the branding. A good analogy would be to think of the strategy as a remastered version of a video game.

This was the first post the founder made after we began working together. It contained an animation I created, which was one of a kind in the niche. Highly shareable content.

Testing Bold Ideas

Many founders hesitate to test out certain ideas, fearing their audience won’t engage or the post won't perform.I encouraged the founder to be authentic and experiment by giving his take on a trending topic, which led to a post that received over 4,000 reactions in just two days. This not only boosted engagement but also drove a surge in new followers and visibility, roughly 3,000 ICP followers which has directly increased the interest their products have been getting.

And all of these followers were direct ICPs because the topic was within the founders niche and by testing out this bold idea, we were able to position them as a thought leader in the industry, which caused a spike in the website traffic.

On the day we made this post, we saw a spike in the website traffic.

Quality Content + Thought Leadership = 🏆

First impressions matter. While anyone can create content, high-quality branding and presentation set true thought leaders apart. By refining the visuals and messaging, the content attracted industry leaders, drove high-quality website traffic, and reinforced the founder’s authority, with people praising their work and even inquiring about the methods used to create such content.
